UPS system failure, including UPS and batteries, is the No. 1 cause of unplanned data center outages, accounting for one-quarter of all such events. This is according to the 2016 Cost of Data Center Outages report published by Emerson Network Power and the Ponemon Institute.
The average total cost per minute of an unplanned outage in this report is USD 8,851, up from USD 7,908 in 2013.
It just makes sense to mitigate the risks of outages caused by battery failure with a quality battery monitoring system.
